At the time, the “personal computer” was a bit more of a novelty than the irreplaceable device it has become today. These 16 vintage ads, showing products like the Apple-1 and Apple II, display the beginnings of Mac’s brand identity.
Who bought a computer four decades ago? In Apple’s words from an ad published in 1979, “Thousands of people have already discovered the Apple computer – businessmen, students, hobbyists. They’re using their Apples for financial management, complex problem solving – and just plain fun.” Let’s take a moment to look back at the Apple brand and see how the times have changed and maybe, how they haven’t.
